TAMPA, Fla. – The miracles that helped the Saint Leo University volleyball team put a record 29 wins on the season’s scoreboard ran out after the second set of their tournament match with the #6 seed Nova Southeastern in the NCAA regional semifinal on Friday afternoon.

The 7th seeded Lions, who went up 2-0 over the Sharks, saw NSU rebound to win the final three games and post a 3-2 (28-30, 18-25, 25-15, 25-23, 15-12) victory to move to the South Region Championship Match to be played tomorrow.

The Lions end their season 29-11 overall while Nova Southeastern moves on to face #4 seed West Florida, who upset top-seeded Tampa in the day’s final match.

The Lions, who hit .256 as a team, saw Kaitlin McKenna and Danielle Bletso drop down 15 kills in the loss.  Bletso led the Lions hitting .382, while Michelle Nogueras had another double-double with 43 assists and 16 digs.

As a team, the Lions out blocked NSU 9-to-7 with Nogueras, the smallest player on the court, registering the only solo block for Saint Leo.
