Smithfield, R.I. (September 15, 2007) – The Saint Leo University volleyball team (13-3) posted back-to-back sweeps on Saturday to finish the Bryant University Tournament with a perfect 4-0 record.

SLU made it look easy on Saturday, as they routed both Mercy College (30-15, 30-20, 30-24) and Bloomfield College (30-14, 30-16, 30-17).  The Lions did not drop a game in their four matches at the event, and have won seven of their last eight matches overall.

Saint Leo junior outside hitter Audrey Starkebaum (Haxtun, Colo.) led the Lions on Saturday, as she totaled 25 kills (6.25 kills/game) and hit .710 in the pair of victories.  Sophomore setter Michelle Nogueras (Cayey, Puerto Rico) had a combined total of 78 assists in the wins.

Nogueras was joined by Chelsea Armer (So., San Jose, Calif.) on the All-Tournament Team.  Armer received All-Tournament honors for the third time this year following her selections at the Eckerd College Classic and the 2007 Argonaut Regional Crossover.

Saint Leo will open its Sunshine State Conference schedule on Friday, September 21 with a trip to Winter Park, Fla. to face Rollins College at 7:00 p.m.
