Schmidt enters her second season as the Lions' assistant coach.

Schmidt was announced as John Conway's his first assistant on September 3, 2010. Schmidt, a Columbia, Ill. native, joined the Lions’ staff after a successful four-year stint as a player for Saint Louis University.

She serves as the team’s first base coach, as well as the infield coach, recruiting coordinator, and other assigned responsibilities.

Graduating in May of 2010 with a degree in Biology, Schmidt closed her Billikens’ playing career with a .284 batting average and a .514 slugging percentage.  Her efforts on the field led Schmidt to an Atlantic-10 All-Conference second team selection, as well as an Atlantic-10 Player of the Week choice in March of 2010. Her talents went beyond the field, as the excelling student-athlete earned a spot on the A-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in both the fall of 2008 and 2009. 

Her accomplishments on the field helped guide the Billikens to three Atlantic-10 Championship appearances and one A-10 title. Prior to her playing days at Saint Louis, Schmidt coached the Columbia Nails travel ball team from 2008-10.

Schmidt resides in Lutz, Fla.
