Adkins named CoSIDA Academic All-American

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo softball pitcher Stephanie Adkins was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® Third Team, as announced May 24 by the committee.

Adkins, a first-time honoree, was named to the CoSIDA All-District V team earlier this month before being honored in her final season with third team honors.

She will add this to her resume as she was named D2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) First Team All-South Region on May 15. Adkins was also named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First Team All-South Region and will await All-America honors to be release.

Adkins concluded her career guiding the Lions to the NCAA South Region tournament with a record of 21-7. Adkins led the Sunshine State Conference in ERA (1.62), strikeouts (175) and wins (21) on her way to earning her second straight SSC Pitcher of the Year accolade. This season, Adkins tossed 182 innings of work, finished with 18 complete games and six shutouts.
