Saint Leo Softball Earns Spot on NFCA All-Academic Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - On Monday, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its 2012-13 NFCA All-Academic Teams and All-America Scholar-Athletes. The Sunshine State Conference was presented with four All-Academic teams and 39 All-America Scholar-Athlete award winners.

The NFCA Academic Awards program honors both collegiate and high school teams for their submitted grade-point averages from the 2012-13 academic year.

A total of 77 NCAA Division II programs received the NFCA All-Academic team award. Leading the way in the SSC was Rollins with a team GPA of 3.47, while Barry (3.321), Saint Leo (3.049) and Florida Tech (3.02) also received the honor.

Over 4,000 student-athletes from across seven different divisions were tabbed NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes. Division II was represented by 102 different teams to rank third among all divisions.
