Former Lions Great to Throw Out First Pitch

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Former Saint Leo softball great, and 2012 Hall of Fame inductee Katie Heintz, will throw out the first pitch at Friday's 2012 Sunshine State Conference home opener against Florida Southern. Her toss will come at approximately 6:55 p.m.

Heintz, who competed with the Lions from 2003-2006, set multiple program and NCAA marks during her four-year tenure with the Lions.

She currently ranks seventh in NCAA history in career strikeouts with 1,209, while ranking first all-time at Saint Leo in earned-run-average at 0.89.

She was named a NFCA All-America twice, while compiling 82 wins in the circle.
