SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University softball Coach Christi Wade, announced the opposing teams for the fall 2008 exhibition season. The Lions will take on some of the top two-year programs in the state. In addition, they will compete against the University of South Floirda.
The highlight of their fall season will be Saturday November 1, when the Lions host the Saint Leo Fall Tournament.
The Lions are set to begin play Friday, October 3, when the Lions take on Pasco-Hernando Community College in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. at University Field.
On Wednesday, October 15, Saint Leo will travel to play the University of South Florida in a doubleheader. Game times are set for 6 and 8 o'clock at the USF Softball Field.
The Lions' softball program will honor players from the past on October 25 at 5 o'clock on University Field . A game will follow between the current squad and the alumni.
SLU will wrap up the exhibition season by hosting the Saint Leo Fall Tournament at University Field Saturday, November 1. Saint Leo will compete in three games that day, beginning at 9:30 a.m. against St. Petersburg College and will follow up with games at 12:30 p.m. against Pasco-Hernando Community College and 2 o'clock. against Manatee Community College.
The Lions return six players from last years squad and introduce nine new players into the Lions’ tradition of winning.
