Saint Leo, Fla. (March 13, 2007) – The Saint Leo University softball team (13-11) stretched its winning streak to five games and won for the 13th time in the last 15 games overall with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Molloy College (3-3) on Tuesday afternoon at University Field.

Saint Leo posted shutouts in back-to-back games for the second consecutive doubleheader, winning game one 2-0 before completing the sweep with a 5-0 win in game two.

Ashley Urbanik (So., Riverview, Fla.) tossed a one-hit complete-game shutout to win game one and improve her record to 9-6 on the season.  The sophomore struck out 10 en route to the win, as she posted her second consecutive shutout.  She was also a combined 3-for-5 with three RBI on the afternoon.

Christina Van Tassel (Sr., Valparaiso, Fla.) delivered the only runs of game one and all the support Urbanik would need.  Van Tassel tripled to score Ali Flynn (Sr., Miami, Fla.) and Erin Brunt (Sr., Clearwater, Fla.) in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Reigning SSC Pitcher of the Week Kiki VonHolt (Jr., New Port Richey, Fla.) then improved to 3-5 on the season with a complete-game four-hit shutout in the second half of the twin bill.  The junior struck out four for her fourth shutout in the last five starts.

Saint Leo got off to a fast start in the second game, scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to seize control of the game.  Urbanik connected on a three-run double with the bases loaded to give the Lions a 3-0 lead.  She later scored to give SLU its 4-0 advantage, and the Lions added a final run in the third to wrap up the win.

Saint Leo will host West Liberty University at noon on Thursday in another home doubleheader.
