SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University men's and women's cross country coach Melissa Miller-Mangen has officially unveiled her squad's 2012 fall schedule.
In total, the Lions will compete in six regular season meets, before partaking in the Sunshine State Conference Championships on October 20 and the NCAA South Region meet on November 3.
"We have a very competitive schedule lined up," said Miller-Mangen. "Each of our contests, especially the UCF Invitational which is the same course as the SSC Championship, will prepare us for postseason action and a higher finisher in the SSC."
Both squads will begin the season at the Early Bird Classic (hosted by the University of Tampa) on August 31.
From there, Saint Leo will compete in the USF Invitational (Sept. 7) and the UF Invitational (Sept. 15), before playing host to its first home meet since 2007 (SSC Championships) at the Saint Leo Invitational (Sept. 29). Moving on, the teams will trek to Tallahassee to run in the Florida State Invite (Oct. 5).
The squads will close-out the regular season with a trip to Orlando and the University of Central Florida Invitational (Oct. 12).
The Lions will become familiar with the UCF course as they will travel back to Orlando to contest in the SSC Championships (Oct. 20). The NCAA South Region (Nov.3) and NCAA Championships (Nov. 17) will conclude the Lions' season in November.
