Cross Country Unveils Spring Schedule

Lions to Compete in Five Races

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach Melissa Miller has announced her team's 2011 spring schedule. The Lions have five dates lined up between late February and Early April, including a trio of University of South Florida sponsored runs.

"All in all, I am excited about this upcoming exhibition season. We made great strides as a squad in 2010 and I feel more training against elite level competition will enhance our development heading into our fall championship season, said Miller."

The teams will begin competition at their only February event when they travel to Daytona Fla. to run in the Embry-Riddle Invitational, Feb. 19.

Three consecutive trips to Tampa will follow for the Green & Gold, as they will take part in the USF Open, Mar. 11, the Bulls Invitational, Mar. 18, and the South Florida Invitational, Apr. 1.

Saint Leo will close out their training session with an outing at the Distance Carnival Invite, Apr. 9, hosted by the University of Tampa.

Each team will graduate only one senior, while returning a majority of their record-setting groups.
