#3 Men's tennis downs Florida Southern, 6-3

LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 3 Saint Leo men's tennis team improved to 10-3 on the season and 5-1 in Sunshine State Conference play following a 6-3 win over Florida Southern on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions took a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Jaime Bueno and Willem Van Den Akker paired up to take Flight No. 3, 8-2, while Vincent Suillerot and Thomas Grinberg took the No. 1 match, 8-5. FSC claimed the No. 2 flight for their first point of the afternoon.

Saint Leo swept the top four positions of singles to seal the match.

Grinberg claimed a win at No. 1's with a 6-3, 7-6 win.

Bueno dominated No. 3's, taking the win, 6-2, 6-2.

Both Suillerot and Francisco Aparicio needed three sets, but they claimed wins as well.

Suillerot won No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win, while Aparicio took No. 4's, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.

The Mocs claimed No. 5 and 6 for two points.

Saint Leo returns to action on Friday, April 14 at 3 p.m. as they take on No. 8 Lynn for Senior Day as the Lions will honor lone senior Oskar Nurmio.
