#3 Men's tennis takes down #10 Embry-Riddle, 6-3

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 3 Saint Leo men's tennis team topped No. 10 Embry-Riddle, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon at the Saint Leo Tennis Center in a South Region battle.

Embry-Riddle jumped to a 2-1 lead following doubles as the Eagles were able to claim both the No. 2 and 3 flights, and the Lions saw Thomas Grinberg and Vincent Suillerot get back into the win column with an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles.

Grinberg followed it up with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, and his partner in Suillerot added a convincing 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.

Charles Benet added a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles, while Oskar Nurmio claimed a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 5.

Francisco Aparicio fought back after dropping the first set, 6-1, to take the next two, 6-3, 6-2.

The Eagles claimed their third point of the afternoon with an 8-5 win at No. 6 singles.

Saint Leo returns to action on Sunday, March 26 with an 11 a.m. match at No. 1 Barry.
