#2 Men's tennis tops #23 Rattlers, 8-1

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 2 Saint Leo men's tennis team took down the No. 23 Rattlers of St. Mary's (Texas), 8-1, on Saturday at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.

The Lions opened up the match with a 2-1 lead following doubles as Francisco Aparicio and Oskar Nurmio took Flight No. 2 with an 8-3 win, and Jaime Bueno teamed with Willem Van Den Akker for an 8-5 win at Flight No. 3.

That lost at No. 1 doubles would be the only dropped point for the Green & Gold.

Thomas Grinberg took No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-0, while Vincent Suillerot had a battle at No. 2, but ultimately won 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.

Francisco Aparicio, Oskar Nurmio and Charles Benet also won in long battles. Aparicio took No. 4, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3, while Nurmio took No. 6, 6-4, 2-6, 10-6. Benet won the No. 4 flight, 1-6, 6-2, 10-5.

Jaime Bueno claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.

The Lions return to action on Saturday, March 25 for a 12 p.m. match with Embry-Riddle.
