Men's tennis adds Ettore Damiani to staff

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's tennis team and head coach Pablo Montana announce the addition of Ettore Damiani as an assistant coach.

"Ettore is a tremendous addition to our staff as he has competed in one of the best Division II conferences in the nation," Montana said of his new assistant. "He has a great understanding of the game of tennis, and he is still playing at a very high level. I am excited to work alongside with him as he brings a lot of experience to the table."

Damiani spent his collegiate career at the University of South Carolina – Aiken where he was named a three-time Second Team All-Peach Belt Conference selection while playing at the No. 1 flight for the Pacers. He was also named a team captain, and earned a No. 13-national ranking during his career. Damiani was regionally ranked No. 1 in Liguria, Italy when he was 16, and when he was 21, he reached the semifinals of the College Students Italian National Tournament.

On the sidelines, Damiani has served as a tennis camp director and tennis instructor at Riverside Yacht Club in Greenwich, Conn. In his time there, he helped create and coordinate activities for more than 100 children, as well as holding weekly staff meetings to go over lesson plans and organize drills, workouts and games over the summer. Damiani also spent time at the CUS Tennis Club in Genova, Italy. He served as the second-grade tennis coach and was certified by the International Tennis Federation.

The native of Genoa, Italy graduated for USCA in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in finance.
