#1 Men's tennis to host NCAA selection show Tuesday evening

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 1 Saint Leo men's tennis team will hold a NCAA selection show viewing party in Classroom 2 in the Marion Bowman Activities Center, on the campus of Saint Leo University. The NCAA selection show is set for Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. on the www.ncaa.com.

Saint Leo Athletics and the men's tennis team welcome all to come to the viewing party on Tuesday evening. The selections will be broadcasted starting at 8 pm by the NCAA. There will be pizza and drinks provided for those in attendance. The women's selection show will follow at 8:30 p.m.

The Lions went 22-1 on the season, winning both the Sunshine State regular season title with a 6-0 record, and the SSC tournament title with back-to-back 5-0 sweeps in the tournament. Both were firsts in school history.

Saint Leo currently holds both the No. 1 rankings in both the nation and the South Region. In individual rankings, freshman Alberto Barroso-Campos was the highest ranked player for the Lions at No. 4, while senior Alex Theiler came in at No. 15 nationally. Fellow senior Egor Panyushkin, the most recent winner of the SSC tennis athlete of the week honor, rounded out the Lions ranked in the top-20, as he came in at No. 19.

In doubles rankings, Theiler and Barroso-Campos earned themselves the nation's No. 1 ranking in doubles pairs. The duo of Panyushkin and Jaime Bueno also fell in at No. 20.
