#7 Saint Leo downs #20 North Georgia, 7-2

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 7 Saint Leo men's tennis team concluded its third-straight day of action with a 7-2 win over visiting No. 20 North Georgia.

In doubles action, Alberto Barroso-Campos and Alex Theiler took down Philipp Mueller and Niklas Zielen, 8-3, to give the Lions the opening point. The Nighthawks responded with a win in the No. 2 doubles spot, 8-3, before a battle between Francisco Aparicio and Fons Verberne and UNG's  Andre Canino and Lukas Moritzen was finalized. The Lions got point in that No. 3 slot, as Aparicio and Verberne took the game, 9-8 (12).

Barroso-Campos took the No. 1 singles spot, topping Mueller, 6-1, 6-2. Jaime Bueno followed with a win in the No. 4 slot, 6-0, 6-0, while Theiler added a 6-4, 6-3 win in No. 2 Singles.

Egor Panyushkin added another point for Saint Leo, grabbing a 7-5, 6-0 victory. Aparicio came from behind to take the No. 5 slot, falling 2-6 in the opener, but responding 6-3, 1-0 (5).

The Nighthawks grabbed the final point in the No. 6 spot, as Canino topped Elliot Carnello, 0-6, 7-6 (7), 1-0 (4).

The Lions are back in action on Tuesday afternoon at 10 a.m. as they take on visiting No. 4 West Florida.
