Saint Leo men's tennis unveils the full 2015 season schedule

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University men's tennis program has announced its full season slate for the 2015 campaign.  The Lions will compete in 19 regular season events for the approaching year, including seven home contests.

"I expect our guys to go into the break in their peak fitness shape and continue that hard work when they return. Everyone is healthy and the team has improved throughout the course of the fall season so we look to continue that trend," said head coach Chris Frusci. "We had a very busy fall schedule in terms of tournaments and competition so the guys know where we have to be for the spring."

The Green and Gold will travel to Brunswick, Ga. to begin the season, facing College of Coastal Georgia at 2:30 p.m. on February 6th.  The Lions continue their time in the Peach State with a contest against Armstrong State at 11 a.m. the following day.

Saint Leo begins home play with a match against ABAC on Friday, Feb. 13th at 3 p.m. before starting Sunshine State Conference contests on Sunday, Feb. 15th versus Lynn at 10 a.m.  Frusci's squad will meet Florida Southern the following Wednesday at 3 p.m. to continue conference action.

Frusci's squad will face the head coach's former team in NYIT on Saturday, March 21st to close out the month.  The home contest will begin at 1 p.m.

The Lions close out the regular season with a pair of SSC contests against Florida Tech on April 8th and Eckerd on April 9th.  Both final matches will be played at home and begin at 3 p.m.  Saint Leo will host the Sunshine State Conference tournament on April 23-25th to begin postseason play.

"Just by playing in the SSC is good enough preparation for postseason play because of the quality of every team. There are no easy matches and some very tough ones," said Frusci of the season.  "We have scheduled top non-conference opponents, including the defending champion, West Florida, junior colleges, as well as the top 2 NAIA schools in the country to make sure that we are getting the constant challenges that we need."
