Saint Leo releases upcoming SSC schedule for 2015 season.

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Head tennis coach Chris Frusci has revealed the upcoming Sunshine State Conference slate for the Saint Leo University men's tennis program, Wednesday for the 2015 season.

After completing 2014 with an 18-5 overall record, 3-3 in SSC matchups, Saint Leo will face six conference foes with 19 regular season contests.

"There is no doubt that this will be once again the strongest conference in the country. We got a little preview of this during the regional tournament but every team has new faces and will add some more in the spring as well," said Frusci.  "Barry will always be a force and teams like Lynn and Rollins have added players to the top of their line-ups. Every conference match this spring will be extremely important for postseason recognition and no match will be easy. There are four or five teams that can win the SSC which shows the quality of tennis here."

The Lions will welcome Lynn University on Sunday, Feb. 15th at 10 a.m. to begin a SSC play.  Frusci's squad will travel to Lakeland on the 18th to face Florida Southern College at 3 p.m.

March will begin with a meeting against perennial powerhouse Barry University on the 7th for a noon road match.

The Green and Gold will continue conference matches with a road contest against Rollins for a Thursday afternoon contest at 3 p.m. on March 12th. Saint Leo will conclude conference play with a pair of weekend home contests on April 8th against Florida Tech and April 9th against Eckerd.

The Sunshine State Conference championship will begin on Thursday April 23rd and conclude Saturday the 25th.

"We will focus on fitness and playing a grinding style of tennis. Doubles will also be the primary focus because this sets the tone for the rest of the match," said Frusci. "This team has great fight in them so that is already half the battle."
