Lions vs. Panthers Rescheduled for Sunday, April 13
SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's tennis match against No. 44 Florida Tech, originally slated to take place on March 29, has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 13. Match time against the Panthers at the DeSoto Tennis Courts is set for 2 p.m.
Storms throughout the Central Florida area on the match's original date forced a number of events to be postponed, including the men's and women's tennis matches.
Currently ranked fourth on the latest ITA DII National Poll, and sitting fourth in the region, the Lions will wrap up the remainder of the 2014 regular season schedule playing three matches in three days. Saint Leo will square up against No. 20 Rollins on Friday, April 11, with Senior Day festivities kicking the day off at 3 p.m.
After that, the Lions step out of Sunshine State Conference action to take on Palm Beach Atlantic the following day, with match time against the Sailfish set for 2 p.m. at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
With the Florida Tech match now set to take place on Sunday, it will mark the second time this season the Lions have taken on three opponents in three days. Currently riding an eight game win streak, the Lions enter into the weekend with an overall record of 15-3, and 2-2 in SSC action. Saint Leo has dropped its only three contests to teams all ranked within in the ITA DII top-ten, and will take on two nationally-ranked teams to bookend their remaining schedule.
