Senior Picks up Second Accolade of the Season
WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo senior Matt Nicholson-Lewis has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week presented by VALIC.
Nicholson-Lewis led the No. 8 Lions to a 3-0 week against three nationally ranked teams. The senior defeat No. 29 St. Mary's (Texas) No. 3 singles player Jared Fellows 7-6, 6-0. He then teamed with Victor Lozier for a victory at No. 2 doubles. Against No. 22 Southern Indiana, Nicholson-Lewis and Lozier earned a victory at No. 1 doubles against Santiago Lopez and Joe Bray by a score of 8-5. Nicholson-Lewis concluded the week with another straight-set victory at No. 3 singles against No. 46 NYIT's Nicolas Heintz, 6-1, 6-3. Teamed with Jacobo Gonzalez-Tarrio, Nicholson-Lewis earned another win at No. 2 doubles, 8-6.

The Saint Leo men's tennis team returns to action on Wednesday, March 19, when they take on Erskine College in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
