No. 15 Men’s Tennis Returns to the NCAA Tournament: Lions to Face Rollins on Sunday
SAINT LEO, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Saint Leo University men's tennis will make a return trip to the NCAA Tournament as the Lions will travel to Miami Shores for a semifinal-round rematch with sixth-ranked Rollins. The Lions and Tars will square off at the Buccaneer Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
The Sunday contest against the Tars will get underway exactly one week after wrapping up a thrilling Sunshine State Conference third-place showdown claimed by the Tars 5-4. The match, spanning two days as a result of rain, saw Saint Leo (15-6) turn a 3-0 Rollins advantage into a four-all match with just No. 3 singles up for grabs. Rollins (13-8) squeaked out the win in that flight, squashing the comeback hopes.
The result of that match in the SSC Tournament, the NCAA awarded Rollins the No. 4 seed while the Lions became to No. 5 seed.
The winner of the semifinal matches on Sunday will square off in the Championship Match on Monday at 10 a.m.
