SAINT LEO, Fla. – Despite the threat of inclement weather, the 15th-ranked Saint Leo men's tennis team took care of business as the Lions closed out their regular season with a 6-0 victory over visiting Eckerd College on Friday afternoon.
It was a win that gave the Lions their 14th victory in the regular season and solidified their place as the no. 3 seed in the upcoming Sunshine State Conference Championships. The match with Eckerd (1-12, 0-6 SSC) was shortened to just singles play as all singles flights were competed while all three doubles were passed up in the final tally.
The Lions have concluded the regular season in third place in the Sunshine State Conference and now begins to prepare for the postseason. Their first stop on what is hopefully long tournament play begins on April 18 at South County Regional Park in Boca Raton, Fla. They will face the No. 7 seed Florida Tech at 1:30 p.m.
