No.18 Men’s Tennis Falls to No.4-Ranked Lynn, 5-0

LAKELAND, Fla. – The No.18-ranked Saint Leo men's tennis team (15-7) fell to the No.4 ranked Lynn University Fighting Knights (18-2), 5-0, Friday afternoon from the Beerman Tennis Center. The loss drops Saint Leo to the back draw of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament where they will challenge No.6 Rollins College.

After battling through three difficult doubles matches, the Lions were unable to make a comeback in singles. At No. 2 singles, Matt Nicholson-Lewis had a tight opening set against Vlad Circla, but was unable to pull it out in the end.

Four matches were still grinding it out on the courts when Lynn clinched the match with a pair of singles victories.

Saint Leo will return to the courts on Saturday, April 21, when they take on Rollins in back draw portion of the SSC Tournament. Doubles is set to begin at noon.
