Lions’ Men’s Tennis Moves to No.18 in Latest ITA Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Saint Leo men's tennis team improved one spot, moving from 19th to 18th, in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national poll, it was announced Wednesday by league officials.

The Lions, after being ranked sixth in last week's ITA South Region poll, saw a one spot jump  in the national standings as they are one of four Sunshine State Conference schools to rank in the top-20.

In addition, Victor Lozier ranks No.28 on the singles side, while teammates Matt Nicholson-Lewis and Aloua Adjenak stand 33rd and 42nd, respectively.

Meanwhile, the team's top-flight doubles tandem of Nicholson-Lewis and Lozier jumped 13 spots to No.8 in the country, the highest the duo has ever been placed.

Also, the Lions ranked sixth in the first edition of the NCAA South Region poll. The top eight teams in the region will be granted a spot in the NCAA Tournament. 

The Lions will take to the court again on Thursday, March 29, as they host the No.23-Florida Southern College Moccasins in a pivotal SSC contest. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
