WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo sophomore Aloua Adjenak has been tabbed Sunshine State Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced Monday by SSC officials.
Adjenak, a native of Paris, France, went 2-0 at both No.1 singles and doubles as the No. 19 Lions split a pair of matches last week. Despite his team's 5-4 loss to No. 9 Columbus State, Adjenak, who is ranked No. 43 in Division II singles, posted a 6-2, 6-4 upset over No. 25 Olivier Simonet. He also teamed with Victor Lozier to take down Columbus State's No. 6-ranked duo of Simonet and Martin Shishkov 8-2.
In a 9-0 sweep versus Indianapolis, Adjenak cruised past Trevor Cox 6-1, 6-3 and joined Lozier for an 8-2 doubles win against Matt Smith and Alex Poe.
In total, 29 student-athletes have been selected conference players of the week, including four tennis honors.
