Tennis Courts Receive Facelift

SAINT LEO, Fla. – After six years of use, the Saint Leo Tennis Center courts received a much needed facelift over the month of July.

Still, maintaining its hard court surface, the Lions' men's and women's tennis teams will now compete on a different color. The traditional dark green has been replaced with a dark blue and green, replicating the courts used at the US Open.

Welch Tennis was responsible for the remodel as they began removing the old court in late June and had all eight courts finished by mid-July.

On the resurfacing, Coach James Bryce stated, "Resurfacing the courts is essential to a program that is in the most competitive region and conference in the country.  The wear and tear over the last six years took its toll. This is a great move for the growth of our program. Changing the color scheme makes our facility standout even more than before, and will be a great recruiting resource. I am excited to get on the court this fall and work towards achieving our goals this year."

The Lions will begin their fall slate on September 22 with the ITA Regional Tournament in Valdosta, Ga.
