Lakeland, Fla. (April 17, 2008) - The Saint Leo University men's tennis team (3-15) opened the Sunshine State Conference Tournament with a 5-0 loss to No. 6 Lynn University (15-4) on Thursday at the Beerman Tennis Center in Lakeland, Fla.

The loss puts the Lions in the back draw where the No. 7 seeded Lions will face the No. 6 seed Eckerd who lost 5-0 to Florida Southern on Thursday.  No. 2 seed Lynn will face No. 3 seed Florida Southern  on Friday in the semifinals.

Lynn swept through the doubles matches to place the Knights in control early in the match.  LU then had straight set wins in the No. four and number six matches to wrap up the necessary total points to clinch the match.

Saint Leo will face Eckerd on Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
