Mikicin scores for men’s swimming at NCAA meet

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Saint Leo junior Milosz Mikicin reached the consolation final in the 100 Backstroke, picking up the first points for men's swimming during the evening session at the 2017 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex Natatorium.

Mikicin finished 16th overall after posting a time of 49.74 in the Friday night 100 Back consolation swim.

Women's swimming senior Nicole Weber was the only other Saint Leo swimmer in the pool on Friday. Weber was competing in the 100 Breaststroke, and did not qualify for the evening session after posting a time of 1:04.23 in her preliminary.

Saint Leo men's swimming picked up one point for Mikicin's finish, and is tied for 31st overall in the championship.

Competition at the 2017 NCAA meet concludes on Saturday, March 11, at the Crossplex Natatorium. Saint Leo will be participating in four events: the women's 100 Freestyle (Natalia Garriock and Annie Lindstrom), the men's 100 Freestyle (Hunter Bains), the 200 Breaststroke (Nicole Weber), and the women's 400 Free Relay.
