Dengler-Harles tabbed SSC Men’s Swimmer of the Week

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University junior Lucas Dengler-Harles was named Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week on Monday, after a pair of individual victories and a relay win in Friday's meet at the University of Tampa.

Dengler-Harles won the 1000 Freestyle with an NCAA "B" standard time of 9:20.06, and later posted a win in the 100 Free with a time of 46.00. Dengler-Harles also swam the anchor leg of Saint Leo's first-place team in the 400 Free Relay, which clocked a time of 3:04.96.

Dengler-Harles recorded 33 points for Saint Leo in Friday's setback to the University of Tampa. In addition to his two individual firsts and the relay result, he also finished second behind the Lions' Jan Urbaniak in the 500 Free with a time of 4:36.29.

The Lions have just under three weeks to prepare for the 2017 Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships, which begin Thursday, Feb. 16, in Orlando, Fla.
