More “B” cuts for Bains and Urbaniak in Colorado

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Saint Leo junior Hunter Bains and junior Jan Urbaniak each set an NCAA "B" cut qualifying mark on Saturday's second day of competition at the Colorado Mesa Intermountain Shootout at the El Pomar Natatorium.

Bains finished fourth overall in the 100 Freestyle with an NCAA "B" cut time of 45.61, just .29 seconds off the winning time turned in by Air Force swimmer Steffen Mount.

Urbaniak recorded a time of 4:39.85 in the 500 Freestyle and finished fifth overall. His time was also in the NCAA "B" cut range.

The entire Saint Leo men's swimming team will compete next Friday, Oct. 14, when the Lions face Florida Tech and Lynn in a meet hosted in Boca Raton, Fla.
