2016-17 SAINT LEO WOMEN'S SWIMMING SCHEDULE

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's and women's swimming will compete in a pair of double duals, three dual meets, and a relay event, all as prelude to the spring championship season with the 2016-17 schedule announced Friday by Head Coach Paul Mangen.

The Lions will open their 2016-17 slate on Friday, Oct. 14, when they travel to Boca Raton, Fla., for a men's dual with Florida Tech, while the women will compete in a double dual with Florida Tech and Lynn.

The schedule also features a home-and-home dual series with Rollins College, and dual meet at Tampa, and an appearance at the Tampa Relays on Saturday, Jan. 7, to begin the new year.

Saint Leo will also participate in the Florida Tech Invitational, which will be held November 17-20 in Melbourne, Fla.

The 2016-17 campaign will culminate with the Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships, on February 16-19 in Orlando, Fla., followed by the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships on March 8-11 in Birmingham, Ala.

"Our schedule is built similar to the way a college syllabus would be designed," said Mangen. "Everything counts and adds up to final grade with a mid-season invite resembling a mid-term exam and our conference as the final exam – with the intent that if we've all done our respective jobs, our grade earned equates to swims at the NCAA national championship."

"SSC swimming is second to none, so we are going to continue to focus on SSC competitions in state primarily. Based on our roster of student-athletes and coaching staff, the outlook for this season is bright and I look forward to working towards our goals and aspirations with this talented group."
