SAINT LEO, Fla. – Behind 11 victories out of 14 events, the Saint Leo men's swim team reopened its Sunshine State Conference schedule with a solid 158-104 victory over visiting Florida Tech on Friday afternoon.
Opening the meet with a one-second victory in the 200 Medley Relay behind the A relay team of Rhet Rheinlander, Vashaad Fincher, Matheus Assis and Milton Alberto-Requejo, the Lions started things on the right foot. The good start was bookended by a 200 Free Relay victory by the A Relay team of Assis, Alberto-Requejo, Gabe Keown and Patrick Ceddia as Saint Leo swept both relays in the SSC meet.
In total, the Lions saw top individual finishes from Ceddia, Rheinlander, Assis, Keown and Jose De Jesus in the victory.
As Saint Leo continues to build its resume for the Sunshine State Conference Championships and beyond, the Lions will host one more regular season event before the postseason begins. The Lions welcome Rollins into the Bowman Pool for a 1 p.m. meet. The meet will also serve as Senior Day, where the Lions will recognize their outgoing senior class.
