Olson Competes at NCAA DII Men’s Swimming Championship: Day One Recap

Mansfield, Texas – Saint Leo men's swimmer Tim Olson concluded day one of the 2012 NCAA Division II Men's Swimming Championships on Wednesday evening.  Olson competed in one event, and has three more events remaining throughout the final two days.

The Land O'Lakes, Fla. native participated in the 50-Yard Freestyle preliminary round on Wednesday morning.  Posting a time of 20.81, he found himself bounced out of the Finals by just two tenths of a second.  The senior finished 26th out of 58 participants in the 50-Free preliminary rounds, and was 10 slots shy of a Finals appearance.

Olson now prepares for the 100-Yard Butterfly event to be held on March 15.  He is slated to swim in the second heat of five in the preliminary rounds, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.  Fans can catch all of the action live at NCAA.com or saintleolions.com.
