Lions Look to Set Pace Against Panthers

SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Saint Leo men's and women's swim teams take to the water Saturday afternoon, hosting first-year program Florida Tech at 3 p.m. at the Bowman Center Pool.

The Lions take on the Panthers for the first time in program history.  New to the NCAA Division II world, and Sunshine State Conference, the Panthers will compete for the first time in program history this afternoon.

After a big day at Rollins last weekend, men's swimming senior Tim Olson was named Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the period ending October 30, announced by league officials, Monday.  The Land O' Lakes, Fla. native helped the men's squad earn a 135-68 victory over the Tars, helping the Green and Gold to their first victory of the young season.

The Women fared just as well last weekend against the Tars.  Led by Maggie Walker who earned two first place finishes, the Lions picked up their first win as they defeated their SSC rivals 115-87.
