Saint Leo, Fla. (January 12, 2008) – The Saint Leo women’s swim team defeated the Florida Southern College Moccasins Saturday afternoon at University Pool by the final score of 108-81.

In the first event of the day, the Lions’ women recorded a victory in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. Alisha Adams (Fr., Conway, S.C.), Julie Carusone (So., High Spring, Fla.), Erin Hotchkiss (So., Tampa, Fla.) and Erin Lucas (So., Steubenville, Ohio) finished with a time of 2:00.17, two-seconds faster than the Moccasins team.

In the fifth event of the day, Jessica Pall (Fr., Osprey, Fla.) placed second in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:07.66 finishing less than a second behind the winner. Pall added another second place showing for the Lions in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:48.52. Lucas and Adams also added individual victories on the day, as Lucas won the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 58.63 and Adams swimming past the competition in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:06.09. Carusone gave the Lions their third individual victory of the day winning the 100 Yard Backstroke in a time of 1:11.69 more than five seconds ahead of the nearest Moc.
