Saint Leo, Fla. (January 12, 2008) – The Saint Leo men’s swim team defeated the Florida Southern Moccasins in a dual meet Saturday morning at Saint Leo 96-75. The Lions made sure to leave the pool with a victory in their final meet at home for this season.

Both Donnie Maclary (Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.) and Tim Olson (Fr., Land O’Lakes, Fla.) each secured two victories apiece. Maclary picked up victories in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:51.41) and 100 Yard Butterfly (54.29). Olson was credited with victories in both the 200 Yard IM (2:02.01) and the 100 Yard Backstroke (56.87).

Two other Lions also picked up impressive victories as Matt Attal (Fr., Tampa, Fla.), finishing first in the 1000 Yard Freestyle (10:09.38). Meanwhile, Matt Szabunio (Fr., Tampa, Fla.) edged out a close race in the 50 Yard Freestyle (23.32)

The Lions had three of the top four finishers in both the 200 Yard Freestyle and the 200 Yard IM.

The Lions will hit the water once again Saturday January 19th at the University of Tampa at 11:00 a.m. The Lions will take on the University of Tampa and the Rollins College Tars.
