SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's soccer and head coach Tony Paris announced the 2017 schedule which features seven home contests at University Soccer Field.
The Lions will kick off the season in Wingate, N.C. on August 31 and Sept. 2 against Wingate and Lees-McRae, respectively, before their home opener on Sept. 6 against Florida National University at 7 p.m.
A trip North to Alabama to face Montevallo on the 10th will be following the first meeting with a Sunshine State Conference foe on the 16th in Daytona Beach against Embry-Riddle. The Lions' first home SSC match will be on the 20th against Palm Beach Atlantic prior to two road trips to Lakeland (vs Florida Southern Sept. 23) and Melbourne (vs Florida Tech Sept. 29).
Saint Leo returns home for two straight against West Florida (Oct. 1) and Eckerd (Oct. 4) before crossing the state to Boca Raton for a matchup with Lynn on the 7th.
Three of the last four contests the Lions will have home field advantage when they welcome Nova Southeastern (Oct. 14), Barry (Oct. 21), and Tampa (Oct. 25) to close out the season. Saint Leo's one road trip in the final four games is to Rollins on the 18th.
"As ever, we play a challenging schedule which I feel prepares us for conference play and hopefully into the postseason," head coach Tony Paris mentioned. "We are excited and ready to get the lads on the pitch and initiate training for the season."
