Men’s Soccer drops a tough one at Nova Southeastern Tuesday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Saint Leo men's soccer fell 2-1 at Nova Southeastern on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at NSU Soccer Complex. Brandon Rivera scored his second goal of the season in the 17th minute.

The Lions bounced back after going down 1-0 early to tie the game in the first 17 minutes of the game before the Sharks found the back of the net for the second time in the 25th minute. 

Saint Leo fired off 13 shots, recorded five corner kicks and committed 15 fouls.

Brandon Rivera and Carlos Moncayo connected for the lone Lion goal on the evening.

  • Brandon Rivera scored his second goal of the season in the setback Wednesday night. Rivera has eight goals to his credit in his career.

  • Keepers James White and Conor McElhinney split duties in goal playing an even 45 minutes in goal.
  • White allowed two goals on two shots on goal where McElhinney tallied three saves on three shots on goal. White suffered the loss and moves to 4-3 on the year.
  • The Lions ripped off 13 shots and were foul-heavy, as they committed 15 fouls on the evening. Saint Leo was awarded five corners to the Sharks two.

  • Oulahbib tallied two goals on the night with two shots on goal with four total shots.
  • Keeper Nico Rosiglioni improves to 3-9 after playing the full 90 minutes for the Sharks. Rosiglioni tallied five saves on six Lion shots on goal.

Saint Leo will travel to West Palm Beach to face off with Palm Beach Atlantic in the final regular season game of the season for the Lions at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29th.
