Herrera and Lavie Selected to NSCAA All-America Third Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - On Friday, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced its 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II Men's All-America Team. The Lions' Edgar Herrera and Chris Lavie were named to the third team.

Herrera, a native of Four Oaks, N.C., earned All-SSC First Team honors. The senior midfielder scored the game-winning goal in double-overtime in the regular-season finale to defeat Rollins for the SSC regular-season title.

Lavie, a native of Saint Michel Sur Orge, France, also earned All-SSC First Team accolades. The defender helped anchor the Lions' back that recorded six shutouts and allowed a 1.06 goals against average.

The only other member of the Sunshine State Conference selected to the All-America squad was Rollins' Walker Hume.
