No. 10 Men’s Soccer Sees Four Daktronics All-Region Selections

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The 10th-ranked Saint Leo University men's soccer team added four individual awards to its growing list of accomplishments as the Lions saw four student-athletes earn spots on the Daktronics All-Region Team as it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Of the four selections, three Lions earned South Region First-Team honors with senior midfielder Edgar Herrera and first-year goal-scorer Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel highlighting the list of front row threats.  On defense, veteran Chris Lavie earned first-team honors as well as he led a back line that was among the best in the region.

Helping the Lions earn the Sunshine State Conference regular season title, and a member of the Second Team was goalkeeper Manuel Schoenhuber, whose 1.01 goals against average helped the Lions to a 13-win season.

A total of 16 Sunshine State Conference men's soccer players were named to the 2013 Daktronics All-South Region Men's Soccer Team. Eleven of the 15 first-team honorees were also from the SSC.

All three Saint Leo First-Team members will now advance to the national ballot that will be released mid-December.
