Men’s Soccer Unveils 2013 Opponents
SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University head men's soccer coach Keith Fulk has announced the team's 2013 regular season schedule. In total, the Lions will compete in 15 matches, seven of which will take place on the Lions' home turf at University Soccer Field. Each of the 15 matches are against regional foes.
Two days later, the Lions will also face Delta State University in Pensacola, rounding out their trip up north before heading south to battle Florida Southern College (Sep. 14) in non-conference action. One week later, the Lions will compete in their first home match when they take on Palm Beach Atlantic (Sep. 21).
Saint Leo will then take on the Rollins College Tars (Sep. 25), just days before a three-game home stint against Eckerd College (Sep. 28), Nova Southeastern (Oct. 2), and Lynn (Oct. 8). The contest against Lynn will mark the Lions' first Sunshine State Conference match, leaving the rest of the season for in-conference play.
In two back-to-back away contests, the Lions will head to Nova Southeastern (Oct. 2) and Barry (Oct. 8) before heading home to take on Florida Southern (Oct. 19). Rounding up the regular season, the Lions will head to Tampa (Oct. 22) and Eckerd (Oct. 30) as they finish their last home games against Florida Tech (Oct. 26) and Rollins (Nov. 2).
In 2012, the SSC implemented the 'plus-four' system, which staggers four random SSC opponents against the Lions in non-conference tilts. This season sees Florida Southern, Rollins, Eckerd, and Nova Southeastern as their challengers.
The SSC Tournament is scheduled to take place between Tuesday, November 5 and Sunday, November 10. Places and times are still to be determined.
