SAINT LEO, Fla. – After suffering a 4-0 setback to Florida Southern, the Saint Leo men's soccer team looks to get back on track with a Sunshine State Conference showdown with Barry University, Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m.
The Lions and Bucs stand at sixth (Barry) and seventh (Saint Leo) in the latest SSC rankings, and with the conference tournament around the corner, both squads are in need of a victory.
The Lions enter tonight's match with a 7-4 overall record and stand at 2-3 in the SSC. Meanwhile, the Bucs are 8-1-3 with a 1-1-3 conference mark.
Both teams are high-scoring, ranking in the top half of the conference in total points. Joel Purkiss leads the way for the Lions' offense, while Mark Anderson has registered a conference-best 16 goals.
Saint Leo goalkeeper McKenzey Scott boasts a 7-4 mark, and Johnnie Rodriguez has posted a decision in each of the Buccaneers' games.
