SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University men’s soccer player Bruce Cutler (midfielder) was named College Sports Information Directors of America/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District first team, it was announced Thursday.

The sophomore earned the honor in his first year eligiability. He is one of three sophomores to post a spot on the team. Cutler posted a 3.97 cumulative grade point average as mathematics major.

Cutler has played in all 16 games for the Lions, scoring five goals.

A native of Inverurie, Scotland, Cutler is now eligible for All-America honors for being a first team pick.

Sports Information Directors nominate student-athletes from their respective schools for the honor. Nominees must have a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have played at least half of their of their team’s games. Nominees must also play one full season at the institution.
