Americus, Ga. (September 30, 2007) – Freshman forward Jonathan Glenn (Maloney Gardens, Trinidad & Tobago) scored two goals and added an assist to help the Saint Leo University men’s soccer team (6-2-2) defeat Georgia Southwestern State (0-11) by a score of 5-0 on Sunday in Americus, Ga.

Glenn had the third two-goal game of the season and striker Eusebio Montoya (Jr., Smithfield, N.C.) added his team-leading ninth goal of the season and an assist in the win.  Midfielder Luis Quintero (Sr., Cape Coral, Fla.) and Kyle Kuhlman (Fr., St. Petersburg, Fla.) added goals in the win.  Brandon Whitsett (Jr., Palm Harbor, Fla.) had two assists in the match.

The Lions got off to a fast start, as Glenn scored his two goals inside of three minutes to give the visitors the 2-0 lead in the opening 13 minutes.  SLU added to the lead in the 19th minute when Montoya scored his ninth goal of the season.

SLU made it 4-0 before half-time, as Kuhlman converted a penalty kick for his second goal of the season.  The Lions completed the win with Quintero’s second goal in as many games in the 81st minute.

Saint Leo outshot GSW 28-3 overall and also had a 14-3 advantage in shots on goal.  Sam Luedke (Sr., Deltona, Fla.) and Joey Gandolfo (Jr., Davie, Fla.) combined for the Lions second shutout of the season.

The Lions return to action on Friday, October 5 when they host Florida Tech in a Sunshine State Conference match at 7:00 p.m.
