Montevallo, Ala. (September 10, 2006) – The Saint Leo University men’s soccer team (3-3) fell 3-1 on the road against the University of Montevallo Falcons (4-2) on Sunday at Varsity Field in Montevallo, Ala.

SLU forward Asmir Pervan (Sr., Simmern, Germany) scored the Lions’ lone goal in the match, marking the fourth straight match that the senior has scored at least one goal.

Montevallo scored three goals inside the first 19 minutes to take charge of the match.  The Falcons opened the scoring just a minute and a half in and never looked back, as they added goals in the 13th minute and 19th minute.

Pervan pulled a goal back for Saint Leo in the 27th minute on an assist from Corey Ahern (Sr., Seminole, Fla.).  The goal was the striker’s sixth in just four matches, but proved to be only consolation for the Lions.

Saint Leo returns home on Thursday, September 14 when the Lions will face Warner Southern College at 7:00 p.m.
