SAINT LEO, Fla. – Future men's lacrosse players Dave Moore and Matt Weller recently received the highest of high school lacrosse honors as both were named US Lacrosse All-Americans.
The duo, both early signees for the Green and Gold, put together phenomenal senior campaigns en route to the national accolade.
Moore, a cage minder from Lake Mary High School (FL), has built quite the resume during his career. Aside from First Team All-America honors, Moore was also picked All-Central Florida First Team, as well as All-District Eight First Team, All-Seminole Athletic Conference, and was a two-time team captain. Moore punctuated his career by graduating Magna Cum Laude
His brother, Doug, will be a junior defenseman for the Lions in 2013, and was a US Lacrosse All-American coming out of high school as well. .
Meanwhile, Weller, an attackman from Rosemount High School (Minn.), was another First Team All-America. The all-time leading goal scorer for his high school squad, Weller also earned All-Section three honors and First Team All-State.
It's the second time in program history the Lions have welcomed in two First Team All-America winners (Matt Obermeyer and Moore).
