Savannah, Ga. (February 17, 2007) – The Saint Leo University lacrosse team (1-0) defeated Savannah College of Art and Design 14-5 in the 2007 season opener in Georgia on Saturday.

The Lions were led by Benjamin Brigham (So., Scituate, Mass.) who totaled four goals and two assists for the afternoon.  Ryan Harris (Sr., Vestal, N.Y.) added two goals and three assists, while Chris Storrie (So., Syracuse, N.Y.) totaled three goals and one assist in the opening day win.

Brady Juelson (Jr., Palm Coast, Fla.) led the Lion defense with 10 ground balls.  The Lions also got a goal from Juelson, while Balzer added an assist from the defense.

David Erdman (Fr., Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) made 12 saves on 18 shots in goal for the Lions.

John Healy led SCAD with three goals, with Stewart Yost scoring a pair of goals.  Bees’ goalie Seth Jones made 15 saves in the loss.

Saint Leo’s lacrosse team will return to action with its home opener on Saturday, March 3 when the Lions host Notre Dame de Namur University at 7:00 p.m.
