KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Saint Leo men's golfer Ryan Gendron shot a five-over for his second round of the 2017 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championships Tuesday on the par 70 Watson Course at Reunion Resort.

Starting on hole no. 10 for the second 18 at the national championships, Gendron shot a one-under on the back nine to open the day. With two birdies and one bogey on the back nine, Gendron fired off a 34 to make the turn at two-over for the tournament thru 26 holes.

A rocky start to the front nine saw Gendron slip seven spots on the individual leaderboard after carding a six-over 41 on the front. Gendron stands at eight-over 148 after 36-holes at the national championships.

Despite shooting a five-over for Tuesday's round, Gendron sank two birdies and made 10 par's.

The third and final round of stroke play at the NCAA national championship will start at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start in hopes of trying to get all golfers in before weather can delay play.

Florida Southern's John Coultas still sits atop the individual leaderboard with a one-stroke lead over Sunshine State Conference foe Niclas Weiland from Barry. Coultas shot a one-under 69 Tuesday for a tournament total of 134 (-6). Weiland shot a three-under 67 Tuesday to climb six spots to second with a 135 (-5) 36-hole total.

Barry holds a four-stroke lead over West Florida on the team leaderboard after a team score of 278 Tuesday to the Argonauts 280.
