VALDOSTA, Ga. – Saint Leo men's golf ended the 2017 First Federal Southeastern Intercollegiate with a 918 (+54) after a third round 310 (+22) Tuesday at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club to wrap up the tournament in 13th place.
Saint Leo added their third round total of 310 (+22) to their first round 298 (+10) and their second round 310 (+22).
Riley Goss turned in the best round on the day for the Lions after he shot a four-over, 76. Goss finished tied for 33rd with a 227 (+11) total. Goss finished just behind Ryan Gendron who paced the Lions at the tournament finished tied 25th. Gendron fired off a third round 77 (+5) to end with a three-round total of 225 (+9).
Simon Knutsson was third on the team as he finished tied for 44th at 229 (+13) after he shot a seven-over, 79 Tuesday.
No. 1 West Florida won the Southeastern Intercollegiate with an 869 (+5) total. The Argonauts shot a third round 288 to add to their 284 first round and 298 second round totals. Chandler Blanchet of West Florida won the individual title as he finished the tournament at six-under, 210. Blanchet shot rounds of 62-76-72 to add up to his 210 and win the title by four strokes over Nova Southeastern's Richard Mansell, 214 (-2), who shot up 10 spots on the final day to finish second at the tournament.
The Lions return to the course on Monday, March 20 when they head to Eatonton, Ga. to take part in the two-day, three round Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College.
