Men’s golf to slips to 12th at the Southeastern Intercollegiate

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Saint Leo's men's golf team fell to 12th overall after round two of the Southeastern Intercollegiate was caught by poor weather causing scores to sky at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. The Lions shot a second round 310 (+22) to move to a two-round total 608 (+32).

Simon Knutsson paced the Lions with a team-leading round two best one-over, 73. Knutsson moves to a tie for 26th after he added his 73 with his first round 77 to stand at 150 (+6) overall.

Ryan Gendron stays among the top-20 golfers after he turned in a five-over, 77, Monday to add to his first round 71. Gendron stands at a two-round total of 148 (+4).

Riley Goss was third on the team and is tied for 35th after a second round 76 (+4) moving to 151 (+7) overall.

James Jessop and CJ Tyler both shot an 84 (+12) for Monday's round as Jessop is tied for 76th at 159 (+15) and Tyler tied for 86th at 163 (+19).

No. 1 West Florida moved into first place at five-over, 581, as they hold a three stroke lead over No. 2 Lynn (584). The Argonauts' Chandler Blanchet and Florida Southern's John VanDerLaan both hold steady in first and second, respectively. Blanchet and VanDerLaan are the lone two golfers on the course that sit at under-par as Blanchet is six-under and VanDerLaan is four under. 

The third and final round kicks off at 8:21 a.m. where the Lions will start their final round at 10 a.m. with Tyler the first off the tee box. Saint Leo will be in the last pairing to come off the course Tuesday afternoon.
